A journey through the lifestyle of Albert Einstein!
During his childhood, Einstein didn't speak a single word until 5. His parents were concerned about it. Finally, one night at the dinner table, Einstein broke his silence and said "soup is too hot". His parents asked why he never said a word before? To which Einstein replied "before now everything was in order".
When Einstein was 5 year old, his father gave him a compass. That compass sparked his interest in science. At the age of 27, he applied for a polytechnical school, he passed maths and science but failed in the other subjects.
He spent 10 years of his life at theory of general relativity which he published in 1915.
However he never received a Nobel prize for relativity, because it remained too controversial. Instead, the judges used his explanation of the photoelectric effect to explain the award.
He also loved music. He wrote that if he had not been a scientist, he would have been a musician, he also said that " I often think in music, I live my daydreams in music, I see my life in terms of music...I get most joy in life out of music."
He kept working almost the very end, leaving the generalized theory of gravitation unsolved .
He was 76 years old at the time of his death. The cause of his death was a rupture of an aneurysm, which had already been treatable surgery in 1948. But he refused to undergo further surgery saying " I want to go when I want, it is tasteless to prolong life artificially. I have done my share , it is time to go. I will do it elegantly."
However his very last words will remain forever unknown, because they were uttered in his native German language. The only witness was his nurse and she unfortunately didn't know German. While we'll never know the last words Einstein spoke, we do know the very last words that he wrote. The unfinished pages which were found beside him had a speech he was going to deliver at Israel, which were intended to address the need for world peace. It was written "Not one statesman in the position of responsibility has dared to pursue the only course that holds out any promise of peace".
